Wellness
on a Break

Providing easy, accessible self-care services
for companies in the St. Louis Area.

BreakWell helps bring what employees care about into focus. We take an employee-driven approach that focuses simply on individual well-being. BreakWell facilitates employee enrichment through custom, turnkey programs that support a thriving workplace culture. By simply offering self-care services, companies can positively impact how they are perceived by employees.

Mission

BreakWell aims to support companies that care about their employees by making health and stress-relief services easily accessible.

Careers are so woven into the fabric of self-identity that there is almost no separation between personal and professional life. The always-on, constant presence of work can easily crowd personal time. When to-do lists get long, typically the first things to go are those related to self-care.

The pursuit of well-being is an important one and facilitating such services holds many benefits for companies, including: decreased healthcare costs, increased productivity and morale and less absenteeism and turnover.

When given the time and opportunity to feel good, employees become an energized and empowered work force who can take on anything.

Research reveals that it’s not wellness programs that boost worker health and productivity – it’s whether employees identify that company as genuinely “caring.”*

“I was successful in my career and from the outside it looked like I was thriving. But in the inside, I was drowning. I worked all day and then would rush to pick up my kids. I would do all the nighttime kid stuff and then somehow it was 9:00pm and I had not done anything that day for myself. I could not keep this pace.” – Tara Gregor

About The Founder

Tara Gregor is many things: she is the Founder of BreakWell; she is a working, enterprising, single mom; and she is a busy woman who finds every opportunity to squeeze well-being into her crazy schedule.

Tara, a licensed massage therapist and esthetician, spent over 15 years serving clients in the high-end salon and spa hospitality industry. Beauty, wellness and self-care services were a natural part of her routine.

However, as her career began to take off and kids came into the picture, time became a rare and precious resource. When her schedule got hectic, the first thing to go was self-care. Any spare time was immediately used for errands, cooking, cleaning, laundry or creating memories and experiences with her kids. Instead of meditating and yoga in the morning, she was using coffee to wake up. Instead of a massage to relax, she would watch TV late at night and zone out. Instead of a facial and professional hair color, she was swiping on a serum and scraping her hair into a ponytail for an ego boost.

It wasn’t working. She was just getting by and she felt tired, stressed and burned-out.

And it wasn’t just Tara. She was hearing her friends and family say similar things.

She knew there has to be a better way to live. She knew she had to prioritize her well-being so that she had the energy to give her best to all the other areas of her life. And that is how BreakWell was born.

BreakWell is passionate about helping employees live a better a life. As a St. Louis native, Tara is committed to work with companies in our city to elevate their employee experience. With over a decade of experience in management, Tara observed what drove employee happiness and profits. As a mother of two young children and a demanding career, Tara also experienced the struggle to sustain resiliency in her own life. Work/life balance was a phrase she heard, but not a concept she was living, not even close.

Companies lose valuable employees due to burnout and stress. By providing accessibility to self-care, companies have the ability to help their employees be resilient and live a healthier and happier life. BreakWell helps companies thrive by focusing on the individual well-being of employees, thus integrating work and life.

Tara is dedicated to ensuring that busy, successful people still make time for self-care, even if it’s only for 20 minutes on their break at work.
